STDs, STIs and Your Health
Every year in the U.S. there are an estimated 20 million new STD infections and nearly half of all new STD cases occur in people ages 15 to 24. Anyone who is sexually active is at risk for contracting an STD. Condoms reduce the risk of contracting some STDs, but they do not provide full protection.
Many people are misinformed and think that condoms eliminate the risk, and thus are unaware that they have an STD. The best way to avoid contracting an STD is to reserve sexual activity until marriage, and then remain faithful to your partner when married.
