The Abortion Pill

Medication Abortion

Medication abortion, also called the abortion pill, can be taken up to 70 days (10 weeks) of pregnancy. The pill ( two drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol) is taken in two doses, one is taken at a clinic and the other at home. Some clinics offer the abortion pill after 10 weeks, but there are many more complications and the pill often does not end the pregnancy.

The abortion pill or RU-486 is not the same as The Morning After Pill. You must confirm LMP (last menstrual period) and fetal age prior to taking the pill.

Cost and Information

The cost of an abortion varies by facility and can be determined by fetal development, type of pregnancy, and other factors.

Schedule an appointment at Haven to confirm your pregnancy, find out how far along you are and learn more about the abortion pill and your pregnancy options.

We do not perform or refer for abortions. We look forward to serving you.

Pre-Abortion Assessment

Pre-Abortion Assessment

Are You Really Pregnant?

There are many reasons you may have a positive home test.

Before making any decisions, find out if you are really pregnant and if the pregnancy is viable.

It is also important to determine if you are at risk for a natural miscarriage or ectopic (tubal) pregnancy to prevent any complications.

How Far Along Are You?

Abortion costs vary and depend on how far along you are, where you get a medical abortion or the type of abortion procedure. Most clinics require an ultrasound confirmation.

Make an appointment for a free ultrasound today.

Although Haven does not provide abortion services, we can determine how far along you are and what options are available to you.

STIs, STDs, & Your Health

Not all abortion providers provide testing for STIs or STDs. Ruling out or treating an STD/STI is important because infections or serious complications can occur if it isn’t treated before you undergo an abortion procedure. We can talk about your sexual health and provide information on STDs/STIs and give you a list of locations where you can get tested.

We'll also inform you about any potential side-effects of medical or surgical abortions and how they relate to your physical and mental health.

Next Steps

We offer free lab-grade pregnancy testing and ultrasound confirmation so you can be fully informed before making your next step.
